Interview Questions

As mentioned in our previous Blog, the majority of interviews these days will include behavioural-based questions.

It's important to take time to think about examples you could provide for these types of questions, so go back over your previous work experience to find scenarios you could use.

Below, we've provided some examples that you can use to practice your "storytelling" using the STAR method.

General

  • What is the biggest decision that you have ever had to make

  • Tell us about a time that you provided service to a customer or internal stakeholder (manager or department) that went beyond their expectations

  • Tell us about a time your communication skills made a difference to a situation

  • Tell us about a situation when you had to resolve a conflict with a colleague

  • Can you provide an example of when you dealt with a difficult client or customer

  • Please provide an example of when you played a key role in a team

  • Tell us about a time when you used your initiative

  • Please provide an example of when you made improvements to a process or role

  • Tell us about a time when you had to change your point of view or plans to take into account new information or changing priorities.

Senior/Team Leader

  • Tell us about a time you had to bring a difficult person on board

  • Please provide an example of when you created a strategy to achieve a longer term objective

  • When have you identified a challenge or opportunity based on your industry knowledge and developed a strategy to respond to it?

  • Have you had a situation where your communication skills didn't succeed in getting something done?

  • you were successful in getting people to work together effectively

  • Tell us about a time where you were a member (not a leader) of a team, and a conflict arose within the team

  • Can you please provide an example of when you provided negative feedback to someone about their performance

  • Please provide an example of when you went through a series of steps to influence an individual or a group on an important issue

  • When have you inspired others to meet a common goal?

  • Can you provide us with an example of when you helped your organisation become more efficient?

  • Please provide an example of when you showed strong leadership
